TOLU ALIKI
Toluwalase Aliki, a trained mass communicator and as well as a professional artist, was born on the 7th of February, 1976 in Nigeria. He is a self trained Artist in all respect though his early contact with notable Nigerian artists has helped sharpen his skills and as well as shapening his career as an artist.
He is a multimedia painter, though with a flair for the pastels. His works exhibits a high standard of understanding and application of colours, deep spiritual content and aesthetic beauty.
The originality of the rendition of his works give them the flair and authenticity no African Art lover could resist.
SO FAR.......
My earliest contact with Art started way back when I was a little boy in primary school. Like my contemporaries, the back pages of my class notebooks used to serve as the "drawing pad" , an offence which was punishable with a few strokes of the cane on the buttocks by my teachers in those days.
However, as I grew, my passion for colours, the need to express myself, to tell a story of the African beauty, of the challenges we face, to capture events in our day-to-day activities, and that desire to share it with others, have inspired me to paint.
Fortunately, being an Artist has given me the opportunity to contribute positively to the development of the society, and so far, it has given me a sense of fulfillment.
